2010 YOUTH PROGRAM

As well as the usual variety of kid's entertainment and activities, there will be more opportunities this year for young people to perform, including the
Young Talent Quest (now featuring 2 age groups) and the "Gen Y Folk" (18-25 y.o.) events featuring concerts and workshops with peer age group musicians. Details & application forms below:

YOUNG TALENT QUEST

If you are aged between 8 and 17 years and are interested in the folk music genre, you can enter one of the
Young Talent Quest Events.

There are two age groups: 8-12 year olds (primary school) and 13-17 year olds (secondary school).

GEN Y FOLK EVENTS

There will be a dedicated Young Performers Marquee at the Festival and we are looking at offering more performance opportunities for emerging performers in the 18-25 age group. Also, we are currently negotiating with Folk Alliance Australia for the opportunity to nominate a promising young act at the 2010 Fleurieu Folk Festival to perform at youth showcase concerts at the 2011 National Folk Festival in Canberra.
